Biomimetics: Design inspired by nature

Biomimetics (design inspired by nature) is an enabling discipline which looks towards nature for ideas that may be adapted and adopted for solving problems:

  ‘Inspiration rather than imitation'

The burr on a dog's fur was the inspiration for Velcro!

BIONIS Mission Statement
To promote the application of Biomimetics (Design Inspired by Nature) in products and services and its use in education and training'
